Everything you need to Know about the Correctional Services Learnership 2018
The Department of Correctional Services South Africa (DCS) is responsible for 240 prisons in South Africa. The learnership is created for South African that wants to get the Further Education and Training Certificate (FET) in the subject of Correctional Services Learnership NQF level 4 because by the end of the learnership you would get this certificate. You would be given theories and practical work training in one year period to add your knowledge and skills to work with the prisoner rehabilitation in more secure, humane and safer detention with the community correction supervision. This program has become one of the most popular learnerships in South Africa in just a few years time.
Closing date for the Correctional Services Learnership 2018
At the time of writing, the Department of Correctional Services South Africa has closed the Correctional Services Learnership for 2018. The closing date was June 5, 2017. However, you can still prep yourself by heading over to the official website in www.dcs.gov.za to get the learnership application form (here is a direct link). Fill up the form with your data in black ink and the name of learnership that you applied for. Do not forget that you would also need to sign the form and attach a copy of your identification document and other proof of qualification that should be verified in no more than 3 months. The general requirement for the Correctional Services Learnership 2018 is you should be South African citizen, have standard 10 or grade 12 certificate NQF level 4, and already complete National Certificate in Vocational Studies NQF level 4. You should be 21 to 35 years old that do not have any criminal record. When you have a pending criminal case you could still apply for it, but you should provide all details of the case. Make sure to write up a good CV to highlight your skills and experiences. Bonus points for your application if you have a good command of the English language. It is not necessary to be computer savvy, but it would definitely help you to stand out amongst other applicants.
Don’t expect any transport, housing, and meal fee so it would be better when you apply for the learnership that located near to your own house so it would be easier for you to transport to the location.
